The Surry Hills Library is an eco-sustainable building with the highest efficiency rating of any government building in Sydney. Collider were commissioned to create the principle signage and ultimately created something permanent. Each module block not only contains the relevant information, but the way it protrudes indicates the direction you need to follow — very clever.
I love how unique and extraordinary this signage application is; I've never seen anything like this before and although never feasible for a museum such as Warrington Museum, it is definitely worth taking into consideration how the wayfinding would be produced and applied.

Brief 4 - Bristol Museum
Cartiledge Levine were commissioned to design and implement a signage and wayfinding system for Bristol Museum, a museum that is housed in one of the UK's finest Edwardian baroque buildings. To avoid adhering any material to the listed building stonework, they used painted timber panels which simply leant against the wall and in turn creates a visually interesting juxtaposition against the traditional Edwardian interior and even the collections themselves. Just using block colour is an immediate identifier to signage and way finding in a building full of historic artwork and collections.

Brief 4 - Polziom 511
Jarek Kowalczyk was commissioned to devise a signage system and identity for Poliziom 511, a contemporary design hotel and bar. The hotel encourages various forms of artistic expression from music to fashion and is reflected in the exceptional architecture throughout the space. The icons are beautifully designed and compliment the type brilliantly.
The stripped back and minimal aesthetic goes hand-in-hand with its surroundings — I love this identity. For my warrington museum brief, its aesthetic may be too simplistic and contemporary (as I intend to target it towards children as well as adults) but is definitely a huge inspiration.

Brief 3 - Fontsmith — 10 years in Type
Thompson Brand Partners created these publications to celebrate Fontsmith's 10 year anniversary. The limited edition box-set features 10 booklets, each detailing a short story written by their typeface designers. The covers are abstract interpretations of some of the fonts they've created — a concept we could adapt within our own project. In the tutorial with Andy, he suggested making our typefaces and specimens into a collectable — possibly a limited edition set.

Brief 3 - Delfina Foundation branding
I have started to collate a bunch of contextual references for the Form and Writing project. I love the minimal and clinical aesthetic of this branding by Spin for the Delfina Foundation. The heavy white copy on the black stock creates immediate impact and the branding is consistent throughout all of the promotional materials.

Brief 4 - Skagens museum
Designbolaget designed the following identity for Skagens museum alongside a sub-identity for their 100th year anniversary. The combination of historic artwork and a white wrap around creates an interesting juxtaposition and could be something I look at with the identity for Warrington museum. Warrington museum holds a diverse array of exhibitions so using this concept within their promotion materials could be a way of showcasing this diversity.

Brief 2 - Noma Bar
As inspiration for the cover illustrations and imagery within the film magazine, I looked into some of my favourite designer and illustrators. Noma Bar is a particular favourite due to his clever use of negative space to create simple yet striking imagery. The compositions are clean, balanced and his subtle use of colour only enhances his designs. I could potentially use a similar process within my own designs, possibly selecting a featured film to focus on or aspects of a particular genre, for example.

Brief 2 - Finnish Cultural Institute...
Kokoro & Moi created this identity for the Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux — an independent non-profit organisation with the intention of generating collaborative opportunities within the arts and culture industries. The typographical contrasts immediately creates a striking yet inviting identity and balances well with the white spacing.
