P/R/D - Edge board

Edge board by Maud Design

Great concept which is utilised well throughout all the materials - the fold in the letterhead and the boards themselves. The wood compliments the white stock brilliantly and the use of wood within the business cards creates real impact.

P/R/D - Binding

As I intend to create a publication using screw binding, potentially with wood or greybeard forming the cover and back, I need to think how I can create a hinge... I could cover it with buckram but this would defeat the point of using raw materials. I came across the following publication and noticed the board is stuck onto the buckram, offset slightly against the spine so the cover is able to be folded.

PRD - Binding

Peter Rowland Catering

Love the contrast of the blue and pink thread against the grey material - I could possible use an orange thread? The black and white photographs work well also.

Builder branding

Business cards designed by B&W Studio for a local builder. The white stock against a vivid and textured orange background creates a an effective differentiation between the hands on, tactile approach to his trade and the clean and refined products / outcomes he creates.

PRD - Bob Van Hulst

Branding and identity for woodworker, Bob Van Hulst by Tim Boellars. The use of minimal icon designs and geometric (and bold) sans-serif type references his trade. The white debossed text on textured stock creates an interesting aesthetic - something I could possibly look into.

PRD - Design direction - Wickes

Wickes TV Adverts

It is evident there is a primary focus on materials which demonstrates the pride Wickes takes in delivering quality products / services. The frame removes the head of any people featured in the ad focusing your attention on the products as opposed to the people using the products.

Heydays - Woodhouse

Brilliant stationery for Woodhouse who "represent suppliers to buy and to sell timber, boards and construction materials, as a binder between the supplier and the customer."Using raw materials for print, this creates a close association to the services on offer. The identity is consistent, using a muted green colour palette combined with photographic imagery.
